Jenna Jameson in FHM in San Diego
Jenna Jameson was in town last night posing for FHM Magazine. Apparently she'll be in the magazine dressed as Cleopatra and topless! haha
It looks like she was giving a show to people that would walk by the hotel, which shall remain nameless. Her shoot was in the front lobby so if you got lucky, you got to sneak a peak. Apparently, she didn't look crazy anorexic and looked somewhat healthy and per several boys. She has some nice hoohahs!

Morrissey in Tijuana is something I thought I would never see. He has said in past interviews how he wasn't a fan of the city, yet here he was. The promoters must've ponied up a good amount of cash and were very convincing. El Foro sold-out right before the show. The sound was better than it was at the Embarcadero show. The crowd was 10 tens better and most of them didn't even speak English! The stage invaders were on full force. I think anywhere between 10-15 made it to stage and countless number of others tried. Morrissey even lent a hand out to them. He was really enjoying his fans and the flowers and accepting all gifts. He put a post card of James Dean down the front of his pants so you could see Jimmy's face and it stayed in place for at least 2 songs.
When Morrissey first came out, you could tell that he was a little slow to start. He was gauging the crowd, trying to figure out what the chaos was going to be like. After about 15 minutes, the old Moz came out. He was happy, jumping around, bantering with the crowd, dancing around with his mic cord. He was the Moz I saw back in the day.
He went through 4(?) shirts. He gave out 3 of them and man did they fight for them. I think my favorite part is when he ripped one of his shirts off and you saw the buttons fly! He has lost weight by the way. He's looking a lot better! My favorite shirt he wore was the USA Chivas jersey that he closed the show with. When he threw it out to the audience, they must've fought for it for at least 15 minutes. The winner of the brawl proudly wore it out front. I'm a huge fan of the Chivas (Mexican team). So I was happy. I just got back from Guadalajara and was able to catch a game, so I was on cloud 9.
Morrissey joked around a ton with the crowd. He was quite talkative. He told stories of how he was pulled over by the Tijuana police once he had crossed the border. He told of how he planned on getting a bicycle and selling fruit (melons, watermelons, etc.) on the Revolucion. He asked if anyone recognized the backdrop he was using this tour, which when given the microphone, a fan replied, "I Love You," to which Morrissey mimicked and asked if he was from Puebla! haha It was a very young and handsome Richard Burton by the way.
He played for close to two hours and while it was slow during some parts, he made up for it by playing all those Smiths songs that you hardly ever hear live. He even played three new songs. The first two I liked, but I wasn't impressed. It was the third new song, "One Day Goodbye Will Be Farewell" that I really liked and made me move. The band did a great job and were trying to get up close and personal with the crowd. An upright bass was brought on stage and a few other horn instruments as well. All around, the show blew the Embarcadero show out of the water. It was the first show of this leg of the tour and maybe that's what had him all ready to go. I guess we'll know for sure once he starts playing the rest of the gigs. He'll be in Las Vegas tonight.

Mad Driving Miles...
I feel so bad that I haven't been to a show in weeks. It's just been a busy August for me. I've been driving up to Los Angeles for the last two weekends and then a jaunt in Palm Springs. It's all for the cause and I'll be writing all about it in the future.

Rumor? Donovan's Downtown?
It's a rumor that's floating around downtown.
The said rumor speculates that the old Trophy's location in the Gaslamp was sold to Donovan's.
Just what the Gaslamp needs - another steakhouse. I mean how many other restaurants do we need in downtown. We're oversaturated and as fast as they go up, they go down just as fast.

Projekt Revolution: My Chemical Romance, Linkin Park @ Coors Ampitheater
I arrived not knowing what to expect. Scott (CatDirt Sez) and I arrived while My Chemical Romance was playing and from a distance, they sounded pretty good. At first I thought that there weren't too many people at Coors for a concert of this magnitude. I mean, Linkin Park, My Chemical Romance, Taking Back Sunday, Placebo, Saosin and several others played throughout the day on two stages. But once we got to our seats, I was able to clearly see that the first two sections were 95% full, the third section was comfortably full and we had enough people on the lawn taking in My Chemical Romance.
I want to say that I will come out of the closet. I've been a closet My Chemical Romance fan. I don't own their cds, but I watched their DVD a while back ago and I was impressed by their theatrics on stage and how they keep their audience engaged. Seeing them live solidified it for me. Gerard and gang were all over the stage. He talked to the audience, getting them pumped up. He was all about the pumping of the fists. They had some fireworks and some pyrotechnics that you could actually feel a slight burst of heat from (thanks again for the awesome seats Scott!). I thought his live singing voice was close enough to the recorded voice that it didn't make me cringe. I was even more impressed by how many girls were there to see them. They knew all the lyrics and they knew the songs as soon as the first few chords were played. I was given the privilege of watching this little girl freak out when her favorite song (assumption) was played. She FREAKED out. I loved it. It was total fandom at its greatest. The interesting part is that this same little girl, who must've been no older than 10, didn't show the same enthusiasm for Linkin Park. They played for a good hour and they kept the energy going throughout the whole set.
After their set, we took a walk to see what we could see. The merchandise table was full of items to buy and while there were some buying, I would have expected much more, perhaps they all had their fill or they were saving it for afterwards. We went back to our seats to catch the set up. I had seen Linkin Park back in the day when they played with Cypress Hill and boy has their stage changed. It's bigger and better - to go along with their rise in fame. The stage was set up as a two level stage with the DJ and the drummer on the riser and the other 4 on the main level. They had 4 other small stage risers set up on the very front of the stage, which the musicians utilized throughout the concert.
Linkin Park played for about an hour and a half. They played all of their hits from the past 10 years. According to Mike Shinoda, they've been around that long and wanted to give big ups to the bands that are starting as they became nostalgic at the fact that they were there at one point. I think they did a great job with their set list. They took it up and down and the fans did not seem to be disappointed. They seemed very grateful towards the fans. Throughout the whole night, they would take their time to thank the fans that have been there through everything. They even mentioned that they were nervous to put out this album since the style of the music on this album had changed from previous albums. Their newer album, Minutes to Midnight, is slower, more melodic, compared to the others.
Chester and Mike were jumping around the stage and completely hyped up. The audience was just as hyped. The mosh pit was full of people, especially towards the end when they were cranking out their harder songs. I went and sat with my sister and my cousin towards the end of the set and was amazed at the even more hardcore fans up in the higher sections. They were singing along, pumping their fists and going through convulsions! I think the quote of the night is when they thanked Chula Vista for being such a great city to play and a girl/woman, next to us said, "but I thought we were in San Diego?"

I want to say that I will come out of the closet. I've been a closet My Chemical Romance fan. I don't own their cds, but I watched their DVD a while back ago and I was impressed by their theatrics on stage and how they keep their audience engaged. Seeing them live solidified it for me. Gerard and gang were all over the stage. He talked to the audience, getting them pumped up. He was all about the pumping of the fists. They had some fireworks and some pyrotechnics that you could actually feel a slight burst of heat from (thanks again for the awesome seats Scott!). I thought his live singing voice was close enough to the recorded voice that it didn't make me cringe. I was even more impressed by how many girls were there to see them. They knew all the lyrics and they knew the songs as soon as the first few chords were played. I was given the privilege of watching this little girl freak out when her favorite song (assumption) was played. She FREAKED out. I loved it. It was total fandom at its greatest. The interesting part is that this same little girl, who must've been no older than 10, didn't show the same enthusiasm for Linkin Park. They played for a good hour and they kept the energy going throughout the whole set.
